The above listed ADR professionals are provided as a convenience to our visitors seeking help with ADR such as mediation or arbitration. Mediation and arbitration are conflict resolution options and a form of ADR that allows parties to settle disputes without having to go to court. In many cases, settling disputes out-of-court through mediation or arbitration can prove to be far more effective and less costly than a litigated hearing in court.
Arbitration can be thought of as as a limited version of a trial involving no discovery and simplified rules of evidence. Either both sides agree on one arbitrator, or each side selects one arbitrator and the two arbitrators elect the third to form a panel of arbitrators. Arbitration hearings typically last only a few hours and the opinions are not public record.
Mediation is an informal alternative to litigation. Mediators are individuals trained in negotiations who bring opposing parties together and attempt to work out a settlement between the parties.
